Golden Apple Awards

Through a generous donation from Mario and Alma Pastega, CPSF was able to create the Golden Apple Endowment in 1996. Each year, four Mario and Alma Pastega Golden Apple Awards are given in recognition of exceptional Corvallis School District staff. The awards, as well as the Stellar Service Award (if awarded), are announced at the annual Back-to-School Rally in August. Traditionally, the winners receive a golden apple, a framed certificate, a check, and a loaf of bread made by local philanthropist Mario Pastega who helps present the awards.
