What Happens At CPSF After School is Out?
School is out, but CPSF work continues as we work to "close the books" on the fiscal year on June 30 and open a new accounting year. That means reviewing every one of our hundreds of accounts to ensure that donations have been spent according to donor intentions and that those donations have been used by the person responsible for their use.
It takes time and we invest a lot into it, but we are one of the few public school K-12 foundations that give donors the opportunity to support any district program, project, school or even classroom. This financial audit process and our ongoing review of accounts through the year is what makes this all happen with integrity. You can trust that your donation is being used where it was intended! And if an error is ever made along the way, we fix it! That's our pledge to donors!
Kiwanis Club of Sunrisers
Larina and I gave a presentation this morning to the Kiwanis Sunrisers Club at the Aquatic Center. They aren't called "Sunrisers" for no reason as they meet each week at 7 am. We shared with them what CPSF does and heard about some of the great things Kiwanis does for kids in Corvallis. Their club sponsors the Reading Buddies program with Cheldelin Middle School kids reading to kids at Jefferson Elementary. A great club and really committed to helping our schools and students! Thanks to Lew McLaren for inviting us!
