Foreign Language

Foreign language enhance students' knowledge of other places and cultures while also increasing their understanding of their own language. In an increasingly global world, universities are requiring foreign language fluency for entry and many jobs give preference to bilingual applicants. CPSF has been able to support both foreign language and English language learning with:

  • bilingual reading materials at Garfield Elementary, Lincoln School, and Linus Pauling Middle School,
  • foreign language board games at Crescent Valley High School,
  • bilingual literacy globes at Lincoln school,
  • technology support for the ELL classroom at Hoover Elementary,
  • matching funds for a foreign language and culture field trip to the University of Oregon.
