Writing

From general communication to school achievement to seeking employment, strong writing skills are vital to successful living. Both undergraduate and graduate level college entrance exams have essay components, and many universities require a well-written letter of intent prior to admission. More and more employers are asking for writing samples as part of the recruitment process.

CPSF actively supports student growth in the area of the writing. Not only have we provide support and assistance for Corvallis students' participation in the annual Oregon Writing Festival, but we have also:

  • Provided funding for teachers to attend writing-related workshops
  • Given grants to bring writing professionals into a school for teacher and student training opportunities
  • Purchased writing manipulatives and innovative writing traits books and kits

Your support for writing programs in Corvallis schools helps us help students reach their full potential as great writers and great communicators.
