IMAGINE Grants encourage innovative ideas that advance equity and enhance students’ experiences in their school communities.
Overview
IMAGINE Grants encourage and support CSD staff’s initiatives that advance equity and enhance students’ experiences in their school communities by embracing the IMAGINE values of Innovation, comMunity, Action, chanGe, Inclusivity, collaboratioN, Engagement.
The IMAGINE application period is from late summer through early fall each year. Anyone employed by CSD may apply, but all proposals must receive approval by an administrator prior to submission.
Grant requests may range from $500 to $5,000.
Successful grants typically support:
- Innovative academic methods, programs, projects and activities
- Specialty equipment, books, technology, and field trips needed to support the above
Priority will be given to requests that show one or more of the following:
- Collaboration across classrooms and/or schools
- Promise for increasing student achievement and leadership
- Advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Potential for replication
- Alignment with CSD Board goals: Excellent Learning Experience, Equitable Systems, Relevant & Engaging Learning, and Healthy Communities.
- Additional consideration will be given to programs that reach institutionally underserved populations, understanding that the cost to students served may be higher.

Purchasing a popcorn machine, which The Corvallis Autistic Teen Social (CATS) Club will use to run a small popcorn stand at local events. Funds from the popcorn stand will be used to fund the club and any remaining profits will be donated to an organization that empowers autistic youth.
College Hill
College Hill Yearbook Club (Anne Foltz) – $2,500
A student-led, staff-supported club to produce yearbooks for the school’s students.
College Hill Weight Room Equipment (Jefferson Peak) – $1,901
Providing a complete weight room for students to learn more about the importance of strength training and exercise, to improve student wellness, and to build positive relationships among staff and students.

Supporting a partnership between the College Hill Urban Farm students and the College Hill Construction Program to install a hoop house and move existing fencing to expand farmable land access.

Purchasing musical instruments for incoming freshmen to increase equitable access to music for all students.
Latin Voices of our Community (Carlos Valdes-Casillas) – $4,550
Training students in the design, use, distribution methods, and evaluation of a bilingual questionnaire. Students will bring their perspectives to the attention of community support groups in Corvallis, helping to revisit the resources offered to Latino/a/x families in Corvallis. Students will lead focus groups and conduct interviews highlighting Hispanic identity and its representation in all schools.
