Right now, support for families in our schools is more important than ever.
Due to the ongoing government shutdown and recent cuts to Federal and State programs, many families in our community are facing sudden financial strain and disruptions to essential services. Access to food benefits has become uncertain, and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) resources are at risk of being reduced within the next week.
For many of our students and families, that means going without reliable access to meals.
In response, the Corvallis School District Family Outreach team and Corvallis Public Schools Foundation have launched a Resource Drive for Our School Community, a district-wide effort to help families in crisis get immediate access to food and basic supplies.
This is a tangible way you and your family can make a difference right now.
How You Can Help
There are three ways to contribute:
1. Donate grocery store gift cards
2. Make a financial contribution
Monetary donations can be made through the Corvallis Public Schools Foundation, which will ensure funds go directly to support families through the district’s Family Outreach team. Donate Here and select ‘Students in need’.
3. Contribute essential pantry items
The Family Outreach team has identified a list of high-need items that can be donated directly at the Corvallis School District Office Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm:
- Food & Pantry Staples
- Breakfast cereal
- Cooking oil
- Salt
- Dried black beans
- Flour & Maseca (corn flour)
- Pasta & pasta sauces (tomato or Alfredo style)
- Canned chicken
- Ramen
- Boxed meal kits (Rice-A-Roni, Hamburger Helper, etc.)
- Snacks & Quick Foods
- Chips, pretzels, or crackers
- Snack bars (granola, protein, cereal bars, etc.)
- Condiments & Spreads
- Peanut butter & jam
- Ketchup, mayo, salad dressing, etc.
- Pancake syrup

Donations can be dropped off at the Corvallis School District Office (1555 SW 35th St, Corvallis, OR 97333), Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
